Hello, Scottsdale

Sadly, I bid farewell to Tucson yesterday. I really enjoyed my time there. Met some very nice people, saw some amazing natural phenomena (and the Biosphere!), and did not get injured by any poisonous insects or sharp-fanged animals. I very well may head back there...after their monsoon season ends.

I'm in Scottsdale, in an area known as McCormick Ranch. It's very 'complexy'. Reminds me of my grandparents' place in Orlando. I think it even has the same gigantic awful fluorescent light panel in the kitchen (sorry, grannie). Colleagues in Chicago know my stand on fluorescent lighting; decidedly anti. Haven't seen anything other than the grocery store - do people know about Fry's? It's fantastic. Beyond that, no real opinions yet. The people of Tucson talked a lot of trash about Scottsdale/Phoenix, so I'm very curious to explore.

Enjoy the funky photo layout, I totally meant for it to look that way. Ahem.

And the award for "narrowest use of verticle blinds" goes to:

I don't know how I would have covered that window, but two verticle slats seems an odd choice.

I think Fry's is a West Coast thing. We have them in CA in the Bay Area and it is phenomenal!!!! My dad used to go there all the time and spend hours there.

I totally get that. I just created a pathetic excuse to go back for something...:)
