I'm sad to leave my little nest in Wilmette (THANK YOU to Ami and Chris for being such wonderful hosts!!), I am excited to get going.

It has become abundantly clear to me that I could never back pack through Europe:



I like to think that I can travel light, but when there's a whole trunk to fill, why bother? Oh well.

My goal today is to make to around Springfield, MO, with a quick pit stop in Springfield, IL for lunch with the governor. Ha, actually, Hot Rod should hope I don't bump into him, he will surely get an earful.
