You can't really tell from the photo, but it is snowing here. HARD. Several inches already. More snow over the weekend. I did not time my trip to Colorado well.

"The Independent Tortoise" - huh?
Wanting to be oh-so-clever with a name for the blog, I did the obvious thing; I consulted the random band name generator. Hours of entertainment. 'Hobo Lizard' and 'Agony of Bacon' were interesting, but 'The Independent Tortoise' really grabbed my attention.
Independent to a fault, slow and methodical like a tortoise, keeping the big picture and long term in mind, grounded and practical. Sounds a lot like me, doesn't it? Plus, I too am low to the ground, have stumpy solid legs, and have trouble getting up when I've fallen onto my back. It's kind of perfect, actually.
